About this file

This document is a Technical Questions and Responses Tracking Sheet for Solicitation #36C77625B0020, relating to the Atlanta EHRM Construction - Infrastructure & Data Center Upgrades project. The document contains 65 detailed questions and responses from potential contractors, covering a wide range of technical specifications and project requirements. Key areas of inquiry include telecommunications infrastructure, security systems, access control, network switches, fiber optic cabling, existing system compatibility, and project logistics.

Notable responses include clarifications that the project involves upgrading existing telecommunications rooms (TRs) in multiple buildings, utilizing existing pathways with supplemental J-hooks, and working with the current system vendor Trofholz Technologies. The VA confirmed that new cabling will be installed at existing locations, and contractors must evaluate and coordinate with existing system manufacturers. The bid due date has been extended to August 6, 2025, at 1 pm EST, and the project is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside with an estimated performance period of 730 calendar days.

TN series plan does not show pathways/backet cable tray for horizontal cabling. LV: The Client BOD was not intended Q-Attachment-E-508-22-?00_CLIENT_BOD_BID (1) section Telecommunications to be included in the Bid Package.

Basis of Design (see below). Please give location/pathway as per new building pathway requirements.

New Building Pathways

Existing code-compliant pathways will be utilized, supplemented by new pathways as needed, ensuring a maximum cable fill factor not exceeding 40%. Pathways penetrating fire-rated barriers shall be self-sealing UL listed mechanical assemblies that allow re-entry without the need for fire-stop pillows, caulk, putty, etc.

. Provide a minimum 12" wide x 4' deep basket-type cable tray system in main corridors and hallways where feasible. The cable tray system shall be rigidly and structurally supported, maintain a reasonably level elevation, properly bonded between sections, and bonded to the nearest Telecommunications

Secondary Bonding Busbar.

. Use supplemental open-top cable supports (e.g., J-hooks) from the cable tray or primary pathway system to work area ouUets where local regulations allow. J-hooks shall be independenUy and structurally supported, spaced at 4' maximum, and not exceed 12" of sag for installed cables.

TN003 shows civil pathway (doted lines) does not indicate if new or existing. Please advise.

TN series plans show A/B fiber backbone do not indicate pathway requirements.
