PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE QUESTIONS

February 8, 2023

1. Question – What is the City of Murfreesboro fee for the construction permit?

Answer – Per the City of Murfreesboro, the fee is in accordance with the below schedule.

2. Question – Will a lay-down area be available?

Answer – Yes, space near the dock and/or on the mezzanine will be available for temporary storage. The VA is not responsible for the security of the storage.

3. Question – Will parking spaces be provided?

Answer – Yes, parking spaces will be available on-site. There will no specially dedicated spaces for Contractors.

4. Question – How can materials and equipment be transported to the job site?

Answer – Docks can be utilized. A forklift can be used for larger materials and lifted through the mezzanine railing. The forklift and its operation are the responsibility of the contractor. There is also a passenger elevator that is very limited in capacity.

5. Question – How will contractors access the building?

Answer – The plan is for the Contractor to utilize VA PIV badges if they already possess them, or to acquire badges for specific individuals that will be on the job long term through the background check process. The VA PIV badges will be activated to allow for access to the job site. Additional Contractors will be issued visitor badges or escorted by those possessing VA PIV badges. The access point to the building will likely be the northside production floor entrance.

Answer – Yes, but they must be utilized respectfully, or access will be removed.

9. Question – Is the VA or Contractor responsible for clearing the job-site prior to construction?

Answer – VA will remove the existing material storage and clear the job-site prior to construction.

10. Photos – Below are photos of the work area, existing electrical, and existing plumbing.
