About this file
This document is a Technical Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for RFQ 36C26325Q0698, addressing guest Wi-Fi infrastructure upgrades for the Department of Veterans Affairs in multiple Nebraska locations. Key technical details include network requirements of 300 Mbps for Lincoln, no Cable TV needs, and specific Wi-Fi expansion requirements for the Omaha Medical Center's 10th floor psychiatric units. The government estimates 10 access points are needed, with at least 4 requiring high-security enclosures due to the West side being a lockdown unit. The current contract (36C26320C0031) will be expanded to provide Wi-Fi coverage for patient rooms with cinder block walls, utilizing existing VA-provided fiber infrastructure. Sarpy County's network will be maintained by the existing vendor, with no equipment replacement required. Cable TV providers vary by location: Omaha uses COX, Grand Island uses Dish Network, and North Platte uses Spectrum/Charter.

RFQ 36C26325Q0698 - Technical Questions and Answers
Q1 What are the network requirements for Lincoln to be upgraded? 300 Mbps
Q2 Does Lincoln also require Cable TV? NO
Q3 We are unable to provide a price for CLIN 0001AG without the requirements for Omaha's 10th Floor? Please see drawing B1F10. Provide coverage for whole floor. Government estimate is 10 APs needed. At least 4 of those need to have high security enclosuresdue to the West side room being in a lock down unit.
Q4 Is the intent to have the Splash Page and Content Filtering at Sarpy also supported?
If so, how is that being provided today? Sarpy County was installed separately, but is managed by the same vendor as the rest of NWI. Equipment is up to date and does not need to be replaced, just maintained and ISP service provided.
Q5 Who is the current Cable TV provider? Omaha-COX, Grand Island-Dish Network, N Platte-Spectrum/Charter
Q6 What is the current contract number that this support is being provided under?
How will the Omaha 10th floor be connected to the rest of the Medical Center? Current contract# is 36C26320C0031. The 10th floor already has connectivity to the existing guest network. This is an expansion to provide coverage to the patient rooms on both the West (Psychiatric ICU) and the East (Inpatient Psychiatric Treatment). Ward is made of cinder blocks walls. Coverage shall be adequate to provide good signal to each room.
Q7 Is the expectation that Fiber Optic cabling will be run as part of this effort? If so, can you provide details on the length of the cable to be run? The current guest wifi switches s are already connected via house fiber to the MDF. Our intention is to reuse this existing VA provided fiber.
Q8 Is there any Phone service requirement involved? NO
