About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation 36C26325Q0186 regarding Boiler Plant Fuel Tank Flush services for VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System. The document addresses four key questions about tank servicing requirements.

The Q&A clarifies that pictures of tanks, fittings, and locations are being provided to assist with pricing. It confirms there is no specific brand preference for fuel additives as long as they are effective for winter storage and waste elimination. The tanks will be partially full during servicing rather than empty. The document also verifies that the Omaha Generator Day Tank 10 capacity is correctly stated as 20,053 gallons, confirming this is not a typo as it refers to the base tank on the Main Generator.

1.Can we request a site visit or pictures of the tanks, fittings and location of the tanks. Having a better idea of the surrounding area and tank fittings/access will be crucial to pricing.

Attached are pictures of the tanks, fittings and location of the tanks.

2. Questions regarding the additive and bio clean product. Do you have a brand or preference that you have used before.

We do not have a specific brand preference for additives as long as they are effective for winter storage and for waste elimination.

3. Will these tanks be empty before we arrive or are we filtering the fuel that’s in the tank and returning it back to the tank?

The tanks will be partial full at the time of servicing.

4. Is the tank size in the SOW for the Omaha Gen Day Tank 10: 20,053-gallon Diesel Day Tank a typo ? We believe it may be 253 gallons but we don’t want to make an assumption.

No the number is correct. It’s the base tank on the Main Generator. You can see it in picture “Generator day tank 10”.
