About this file

This document is an Amendment 3 (labeled as "0004") Questions and Answers file for a VA project, specifically addressing acoustical ceiling specifications. The Q&A focuses on two key technical details for ceiling tiles (AT-1): 1) Ceiling Attenuation Class (CAC) and 2) Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC). The VA responses clarify that for the USG Radar Basic #2110 tile, a minimum CAC of 33 is permissible, and an NRC of 55 is acceptable, despite the Room Finish Legend initially specifying higher requirements of CAC 40-44 and NRC 85.

The related federal contract opportunity is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside for the St. Cloud VA Health Care System in Minnesota. The project, numbered 656-18-301, involves upgrading Building 51's HVAC systems in the basement, with an estimated contract value between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The contract will be a firm fixed-price construction project replacing aging HVAC equipment with current technology, using NAICS code 238220 for Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors.
