About this file

This is Amendment 0002 to solicitation 36C26225Q0103 issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs NCO 22 Network Contracting Office in Tucson, AZ. The amendment provides answers to questions about a pharmacy wall-to-wall inventory services requirement at the Las Vegas VA Health Care System (LLVAHCS).

The inventory covers two locations - an inpatient pharmacy in the main hospital and an outpatient pharmacy in building #20, with a total previous inventory value of $5,272,270.61. The work must be performed on Presidents Day when the pharmacies are closed. The previous inventory counted 4,403 line items (18,005 units) in the inpatient pharmacy and 2,679 line items (10,551 units) in the outpatient pharmacy, taking 7-8 hours to complete. The inventory includes drugs and fluids but not supplies. While physical counts are not required for automated dispensing cabinets and Boxpicker systems (reports will be provided), the inpatient vault Omnicell needs to be physically counted. The previous contract cost was $5,800.00.

Q: The SOW indicates the inventory will commence on Presidents Day of each year. Is it on this date or that week since this is a Government Holiday?

A: The Government wants the inventory completed on the holiday. The Government would like the inventory completed while the pharmacy is closed for the Holiday.

Q: The SOW has two buildings listed for inventory. Are there any other outside areas for inventory counts?

A: The only two locations are the inpatient pharmacy located inside the main hospital and outpatient pharmacy at building #20. No other locations need to be inventoried.

Q: Are there dispensing machines such as Parada, script pro, Omni Cell or pyxis? If so will reports be provided for these or will it require counts?

A: These reports are pulled and provided to the contractor. Their staff should not need to physically inventory the automated dispensing cabinets or Boxpicker, with the exception of the inpatient vault (we believe there is a physical count completed of the inventory loaded in that

Omnicell).

Q: The SOW indicates the previous inventories took 7-8 hours to complete. Could you provide the estimated number of and total counts? If not estimated value of the inventory?

A: This is the information on our previous reports.

a. Inpatient – 4403 line items, 18005 units counted

b. Outpatient – 2679 line items, 10551 units counted

Q: Will someone be designated for any items that do not match the Wholesaler contracts for proper pricing?

A: Pricing can be verified by the designated staff if any discrepancies or questions arise for confirming this information.

Q: What is the approximate value of the last count?

A: -Total inventory counted on-hand $5,272,270.61

-Total cost for the service $5800.00

Q: Is Wall-to-Wall drugs only? Include Supplies? Fluids?

A: Drugs and fluids.

Q: Are Carousel shelving in use?

A: We do have Boxpicker which is similar to the Carousel.

NOTE: Any questions not answered is due to it not having any relevancy to the current solicitation and or is public information in which a contractor may request a FOIA.
