See question and answers below.

Questions

Q: “There shall be pass throughs equipped with a HEPA filtration air purge between the workroom and the hazardous and non-hazardous buffer rooms.”

The current pass through on the non-hazardous side is static not HEPA because the room is positive pressure. The current design meets the requirements of USP 797/800. Is static configuration in the non-hazardous side acceptable?

A: Yes, if requirements of USP 797/800 are met.

Q: “Power

a. The contractor shall provide a step-down transformer for the Government provided power

b. Contractor shall provide all necessary cabling to hook up the trailer and any necessary ADA cable ramps.”

Does the current trailer have an ADA cable ramp installed?

A: VA is currently using its own 3-foot-long cable ramp.

Q: “Task 4: Non-Hazardous and Hazardous Anteroom Capabilities/Requirements

a. Filtration: ISO Class 7

b. Pressurization: Positive pressure with minimum 30 ACPH

c. Minimum size/space: 4’ x 4’ x 7’ H (ceiling)

d. Contain casework for personal protective equipment (PPE) that must be donned by staff prior to entering the respective hazardous and nonhazardous IV preparation rooms

e. Contain a bench for staff to sit while donning/doffing PPE”

The current non-hazardous anteroom is designed to ISO-8 which meets USP 797/800. Does this the non-hazardous anteroom have to be brought up to ISO-7?

A: No, ISO Class 8 would be fine for the non-hazardous ante room. The hazardous ante room, however, will need to be ISO Class 7.
