About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) form for the VA's "Improve Security Mountain View" project (Solicitation Number 36C26125R0058). The RFI was submitted by Rusty Bucket Construction on 07/16/2025, seeking clarification on two specific security system requirements: (1) the alarm system's protocol for contacting VA police, and (2) confirmation of the system's wiring configuration. The VA Project Manager responded that the security system must be configured to contact VA police as the primary responder to any alarm event, and confirmed it will be a hard-wired, multiplexed, microprocessor-based intrusion detection system with communication links for monitoring, alarm, and control functions. The project involves security improvements for Building 801 at the VA Mountain View Center located at 1776 Old Middlefield Way, Mountain View, CA 94043.
