About this file
This document is a special notice of intent to award a sole source contract. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a one-year base contract plus four one-year options to Karl Storz Endoscopy-America, Inc. for the rental and maintenance of urology scopes. The scopes are needed for the urology department at the VA Southern Nevada Health Care System. Karl Storz is the only acceptable source as it currently owns and maintains the scopes used by the urologists. Remaining with Karl Storz scopes will eliminate the need for additional equipment, reduce training requirements, and allow use of existing cleaning equipment and attachments. Prospective contractors must provide detailed technical documentation by April 29, 2020 if they believe they can successfully provide the items, with submissions sent to the contracting officer via email. A determination on whether to compete the requirement will be at the government's discretion.
