Question 1: For the revised specification, can you please explain what is meant by the notation for the existing pit:

"The work must include any necessary pit construction needed to fit the new washer into the available space without adding additional delays"

Do you mean pit renovations (such as redoing flooring, drains, etc) or is that the responsibility of the facility? If the replacement washer will fit the existing pit, then nothing else would need to be done, correct?

Answer: As long as the washer meets the overall unit dimensions of 80” W x 104”H x 93” L, then nothing else would need to be done. If not, the pit will need to be modified by the contractor.

Question 2: Section B.3 lists delivery for CLINs 0001-0002 as June 30, 2026, which predates the solicitation, while the SOW states the washer is to be installed during FY27 and functional before June 2027. What is the correct required delivery and functional-completion date?

Answer: June 30,2027.

Question 3: Are the SOW dimensions mandatory for technical acceptability:

Interior compartment 40"W x 85"H x 85"L and overall unit 80"W x 104"H x 93"L? The manufacturer's current published standard dimensions for the LYNX 410LX differ, so please confirm whether a custom configuration that fits the existing 94"L x 85"W x 13"D pit is required.

Answer: OVERALL UNIT 80"W x 104"H x 93"L IS CORRECT. THE PIT WILL NEED TO BE

MODIFIED IF NECESSARY.

Question 4: Is a site visit available before quotations are due? If not, will the VA provide current photographs, utility information, connection-point locations, and complete as-built dimensions for the room, pit, barrier wall, access path, and existing washer?

Answer: Yes

Question 5: Please confirm the required scope for CLIN 0002, including responsibility for disconnecting, removing and disposing of the existing washer; plumbing, electrical, steam, drain and exhaust work; pit demolition or modification; structural engineering, permits and infection-control requirements; final wall/pit patching and sealing; startup, testing and training.

Answer: THIS NEEDS TO BE A TURN-KEY PROJECT WITH CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE

FOR EVERYTHING INVOLVED TO DELIVER A FINISHED PRODUCT.

Question 6: Should offerors include a firm allowance for unknown pit modifications, or will any unforeseen conditions be handled separately after site verification?

Answer: Yes, the offerors should include a firm allowance for unknown pit modifications.
