About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document outlining the required specifications for a Steri-Trac 2 sensor system for the Roseburg VA Healthcare System. The system must include a sensor exchange program providing pre-calibrated, exchangeable sensor modules with new patented filters three times annually, along with automatic no-charge upgrades to the newest available sensor technology. Sensors must be calibrated to target gases (EtO and PAA) and capable of connecting to the Area Monitor via USB or Bluetooth. The EtO system requires a patented chemical filter that reduces false alarms from common interferents, while the PAA system must feature a patent-pending chemical filter that minimizes cross-sensitivity to hydrogen peroxide to less than one percent.

The Area Monitor component must be compact (8" x 6" x 2") and weigh only 1.6 lbs, with continuous tracking and display of all Time-Weighted Averages (TWAs) against OSHA limits including Action Level (AL), Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL), and Excursion Limit (EL). The system must display early warning indicators for impending alerts, color-coded instantaneous readings, and sensor calibration status. Additional requirements include customizable alarm levels, remote display repeaters with LCD displays and audible/visual alarms for external mounting, independent Area Monitors with built-in battery backup, and a data acquisition system with real-time color-coded tracking, customizable reporting, and graphing capabilities. The complete system must include onsite commissioning and employee training. The salient characteristics are subject to modification prior to the request for quote issuance.

Salient Characteristics:

•A sensor exchange program that provides pre-calibrated, exchangeable sensor modules, with new, patented filters, three times a year •A sensor exchange program that includes automatic, no charge, upgrade to newest sensor technology available •Sensors calibrated to the target gas •Sensors can connect to the Area Monitor via USB or Bluetooth connection •An EtO system supplied with a patented chemical filter in the sensors that greatly reduces false alarms due to common interferents (US 7,491,547) •A PAA system supplied with a patent pending chemical filter in the sensors that greatly reduces cross sensitivity to hydrogen peroxide (< 1%) •An Area Monitor that is only (w x h x d) 8” x 6” x2.

•An Area Monitor that weighs only 1.6 lbs.

•Area Monitors that continuously track and display all TWA's with respect to the OSHA limits: Action Level (AL), Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) and Excursion Limit (EL) •Area Monitors that continuously track and display early warnings (Impending Alerts) for all of the OSHA limits, AL, PEL & EL* •Area Monitors that display color coded readings of instantaneous levels, as well as all TWA's with respect to the OSHA limit •Area Monitors that allow you to see the sensor calibration status, sensor serial number, current date and time •A system that allows for customizable low and high-level alarm levels •A system that allow for customizable TWA limits •Remote displays/Repeaters that connect to main monitor. Display / Repeaters mounted outside the door(s) of a monitored area, alert employees to gas levels BEFORE they enter a monitored area via LCD display and audible & visual alarms should safe levels be exceeded.

•Area Monitors that are independent from each other, operating under their own power, with a built-in battery backup, thus eliminating the possibility of total system failure •A DAQ (or computer system) with real time, color coded, continuous tracking of instantaneous readings, as well as all TWA's with respect to the OSHA limits •A DAQ (or computer system) that displays color coded and audible alerts with respect to the OSHA limits: Action Level (AL), Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL)and Excursion Limit (EL), as well as early warnings to Impending Exposure •A DAQ (or computer system) with built-in reporting and graphing •A DAQ (or computer system) with customizable reporting •A system to include onsite commissioning and employee train
