About this file
This is an Amendment to a Previous Combined Solicitation (RFQ 36C25926Q0576) for Steris Sterilization Equipment Preventive Maintenance and Repair Services for the Veterans Healthcare Administration Salt Lake City Health Care System located at 500 Foothill Boulevard, Salt Lake City, Utah 84148. The amendment provides official answers to four questions submitted by potential offerors and updates the Performance Work Statement accordingly. The solicitation is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 19 (NCO 19) in Greenwood Village, Colorado, with Crystal Volmar as the contract specialist. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. Final offers must be submitted via email to crystal.volmar@va.gov by 10:00 AM Eastern Time on Monday, June 29, 2026. The product service code is J065 (Equipment Maintenance and Repair), and the NAICS code is 811210. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products and services under FAR Part 12, with the government reserving the right to make no award.
The amendment addresses key clarifications regarding service standards and performance metrics. The government agreed to accept STERIS's standard terms and conditions, which do not include specific KPIs or uptime guarantees but provide warranties for parts and workmanship plus remote monitoring through the Total Care Connect program. Remote monitoring capability is limited to equipment with connectivity features; Warming Cabinets, Prep & Pack Tables, and InnoWave Eco equipment cannot be remotely monitored but are available on the ConnectCare platform. Service response commitments are standardized as 4-hour phone response and 48-hour on-site response, which differ from the originally requested 30-minute phone response and 4-hour on-site response. For single chamber washers, the government accepted STERIS's recommended standard of two inspections annually rather than the originally solicited four inspections per year, with the note that additional inspections would impact pricing.

The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions submitted.
The Performance Work Statement has been updated based in addition to answers to submitted questions. All other terms and conditions of the solicitation remain unchanged with all final offers by 10:00am EST Monday on June 29, 2026. Offers shall be emailed to Crystal Volmar at crystal.volmar@va.gov Answers To Questions Submitted
1. Performance Metrics and Uptime Guarantees Please note that STERIS standard terms and conditions do not include Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or uptime guarantees. STERIS is committed to delivering high-quality products and services, and performance expectations are incorporated within our standard terms and conditions. These terms include warranties covering parts and workmanship, providing assurance regarding the reliability and performance of STERIS equipment and services.
Additionally, STERIS offers remote monitoring capabilities through our Total Care Connect program. This service enables proactive equipment oversight and supports performance optimization and issue identification throughout the term of the applicable agreement.
Answer - SLCVA agrees with current Steris standard.
2. Remote Monitoring Availability The solicitation indicates that remote monitoring will be available for all equipment on a 24/7 basis. We would like to clarify that remote monitoring is only available for equipment with connectivity capabilities. The following equipment is not connectable and therefore cannot be remotely monitored:, but is available on the ConnectCare platform:
· Warming Cabinets
· Prep & Pack Tables
· InnoWave Eco
Answer - SLCVA agrees with current Steris standard.
3. Response Time Requirements We also noted the requested response times of a 30-minute phone response and a 4-hour on-site response. STERIS is unable to accommodate these response requirements. Our standard service response commitments are:
a. Phone response: 4 hours
b. On-site response: 48 hours Answer - SLCVA agrees with current Steris standard.
4. Inspection Frequency for Single Chamber Washers The solicitation references four (4) inspections per year for single chamber washers. We would like to note that STERIS's sole-source recommendation for this equipment is four inspections annually. For your reference, we have attached the applicable Sole Source letter.
To ensure accurate pricing, please advise whether you would like to proceed with the standard two (2) inspections per year or if you would like to include the recommended four (4) inspections annually, as additional inspections will impact pricing.
Answer - SLCVA agrees with current Steris standard.
