About this file
This is a Special Notice of Intent for a sole source procurement of Omnicell pharmacy maintenance services. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 19, located in Greenwood Village, Colorado, intends to award a contract to Omnicell, Inc., the sole manufacturer and authorized service provider for Omnicell pharmacy automation systems. The requirement is for full-service maintenance and technical support for Omnicell pharmacy automation systems at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center and affiliated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The justification for sole source is based on the proprietary nature of the hardware and software, which requires factory-trained technicians, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts, and manufacturer-issued encryption keys for system access and maintenance.
The contract consists of a base year (Line Item 0001) and one option year (Line Item 1001), each covering 12 months of maintenance services. The maintenance packages include support for multiple Omnicell devices and software components, including SinglePointe and MED-XT systems, controlled substance dispensers, central pharmacy systems, label printers, carousels, barcode scanners, bio-ID readers, and associated workstations and software licenses. The response deadline for interested parties to demonstrate capability is 4:00 PM Mountain Time on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Responses should be sent to Jeremy Ferrer, Contract Specialist, at jeremy.ferrer@va.gov. The product service code is J065 (Maintenance and Repair Services), the NAICS code is 811210 (Computer and Office Machine Repair and Maintenance), and the business size standard is $34.0 million.
