About this file
This file contains vendor questions and answers for a Request for Quote (RFQ) for surgical booms and exam lights for the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System. The RFQ (Solicitation Number 36C25925Q0527) seeks vendors capable of supplying, delivering, and installing two Skytron Freedom Booms (Model: F320 Series) or equivalent, with monitor arms accepting displays up to 37" and 420-degree rotation. Key procurement details include a site visit scheduled for September 17, 2025, at 2:00-4:00 PM MDT, with questions due by 12:00 PM MST on September 22, 2025, and quotes required by 12:00 PM MST on September 24, 2025.
The Q&A document addresses specific vendor inquiries, including Buy American requirements (vendors are encouraged to use U.S.-manufactured products but non-domestic products will not be excluded), confirmation of single monitor arm specifications, and clarification that a patient lift is not a requirement (ceiling-mounted patient lifts are already present in trauma and exam rooms). Quotes must be submitted via email to John.Cheng2@va.gov, with a 4MB email size limit, and the government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract for this procurement.

Vendor Questions & Answers
1) Given the time of year and with the BAA selected, realistically would you be open to accepting offers that are manufactured from sources outside of the United States?

3) We can offer a very similar setup, but with an integrated patient lift in the boom arm. Will a patient lift be included on the boom assembly? Or how will the safe patient handling mandates be met?
Answer: A surgical boom with an integrated patient lift is not a requirement and should not be in the solicitation. The trauma rooms and some exam rooms for the Emergency Department have ceiling mounted patient lifts.
4) Are you looking for someone to provide this or install these fixtures?
