Q1. Please provide a panel specification for electrical note #1. Rating of panel, breakers required, mlo or main breaker, etc.

A1. Provide one new 42 space, 600-amp panel approved equal to Square D model NQ442L6C with Square D model QOB bolt on circuit breakers. Panel shall have the means to sub-feed a second panel. Copper bus material, NEMA 1 rated, locking door, removable inner dead front cover. Provide manufacturer’s standard option for pre-punched knockouts on top and bottom end walls. Panels shall meet NFPA and manufacturers requirements.

Q2. The location of the 600A main panel is in the existing location of the data equipment. Is the data equipment to be moved?

A2. Locate panels on East wall adjacent to the data equipment. Maintain minimum 3’-0” clearances.

Q3. Electrical note #3. Is the intent to install 2 parallel 3" conduits? It's not possible to get NEC rated 600A ampacity wire in a single 3" conduit.

A3. Provide Two parallel 3” or a single conduit to house the conductors as needed for the most cost-effective solution.

Q4. Will the prime contractor be required to have a separate SSHO for this project or can the SSHO work on multiple projects?

A4. A superintendent may work on multiple projects at the Sheridan VA and provide notification to the COR of a designated alternate with a 30-hour OSHA card while not on station.

Q5. Is the SSHO required to be onsite full time with no other duties?

A5. No. Superintendent may leave site to procure materials, etc.

Q6. Does the CQCM have to be on site full time?

A6. The CQCM can be the supervisor as mentioned above.

Q7. Can the CQCM be the superintendent?

A7. Yes.

Q8. Can the Superintendent be the SSHO and CQCM?

A8. Yes.

Q9. Concerning electrical Note #1 on M100

a. Please provide a panel schedule for the new panel being called for.

b. Please Clarify what is meant by “100 breaker distribution panel.”

A9.

a. Provide one new 42 space, 600-amp panel approved equal to Square D model NQ442L6C with Square D model QOB bolt on circuit breakers. Panel shall have the means to sub-feed a second panel. Copper bus material, NEMA 1 rated, locking door, removable inner dead front cover. Provide manufacturer’s standard option for pre-punched knockouts on top and bottom end walls. Panels shall meet NFPA and manufacturers requirements.

b. See above.

Q10. Concerning electrical note #1 on M100

a. This note calls for a 600A feed from Transformer TF-35. Will a load study be required to verify the existing load and confirm viability of a new 600A feed?

b. A typical 600A feed consists of 2 parallel runs of 4 - 350 MCM Copper and a #1 Ground in 3” conduits. For bidding purposes, can we assume this is what will be required?

A10.

a. The Sheridan VA will conduct a study of the power requirements.

b. As stated, will work if installed per the NEC.

Q11. Concerning Electrical Note #5 on M100

a. New conduit is being called out for RTU-1. With no mention of wire or terminations. Will new wire and final termination be required as well?

b. Will any Fire Alarm (Duct detectors or HVAC Shutdown) be required for the new unit?

A11.

a. On the RTU-1 schedule note 6 states to “Provide wire, conduit, and required breaker at nearest panel with space available. Install electrical work per NEC.” For this project provide means to furnish and install for a complete working system.

b. All VA air handlers shall have supply and return duct smoke detectors and shall be connected to the fire alarm system.

Q12. After the site walk and looking through the drawings can the VA provide a list of existing utilities in the basement that will need to be removed/demoed? Along with what floors 1 and 2.

A17. RTU-1 shall have a 12” galvanized steel curb, and shall set on a 4” thick concrete pad raised above the area pavement.

Q18. Will any of the duct supports outside coming off the RTU require concrete pads?
