About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a solicitation for PACS readers and installation at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. The solicitation requests the addition of approximately 30 Lenel 1320 series control boards and 30 Altronix power supplies to the existing access control system. HEPA carts are expected to be needed for 52 of the 113 door locations requiring upgrades. While conduit is required from doors to telecom rooms, finished ceilings may preclude conduit runs for 40 doors. The contractor will be responsible for installing both conduit and cabling as needed. No technology drawings were provided due to the proximity of electrical and telecom closets, with an estimate of 300 feet of conduit per closet. Quotes are due no later than September 14, 2022.

6350--PACS Readers and Installation for Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center Solicitation Number: 36C25922Q0740

QUESTIONS (Q) AND ANSWERS (A):

Q1. Is the access control programming for the Lenel system performed by others?

A1. Yes, VA has a contract with HurtVet, and subcontract with Convergint to help manage the system. For any new control boards installed this contractor will be responsible for programming them into ours system and it will be outside of the HurtVet contract.

Q2. Section 1.2.1 requires addition of Lenel 1320 series (LNL-1320-S3) control boards. How many are expected to be needed?

A2. VA anticipates about 30 additional boards will be required.

Q3. Section 1.2.2 requires addition of Altronix power supplies (T3MK77F16D). How many additional power supplies are requested?

A3. VA anticipates about 30 additional boards will be required.

Q4. Section 1.5 and 1.65, page 1 of SOW references ICRA. Can you advise whether HEPA carts are expected to be needed and if so, in what percentage of the 113 door locations?

A4. Yes, HEPA carts are expected for approximately 52 of the doors.

Q5. Section 1.1.7 states "all cabling shall be in conduit from the door to the Telecom Room (TR)". Please confirm that you are requiring conduit above a finished ceiling, and that this is required for 113 separate conduit runs.

A5. VA anticipates 40 of doors may require finished ceilings.

Q6. I see a contradiction on the SOW vs Clarifications / Exclusions. Section 1.16 shows details on the cabling part number, Section 1.1.7 states that cable needs to be in conduit, Section 1.6.1 excludes conduit, wire, boxes, fittings, or other electrical installation materials unless specified. Will the contractor be required to install the cable in preexisting conduit or will the contractor need to provide and install the conduit as well as the cabling?

A6. Yes, conduit will need to be installed where possible.

Q7. In addition to the door locations we will need to know how they correlate to the existing equipment and telecom rooms. Question: Can technology drawings please be provided?

A7. Most of the electrical and mechanical closets are close to the telecom closets. To quote conduit runs use an estimate 300ft run of conduit per closet listed in the SOW. Some closets will require more conduit and some will require less, and it will average itself out. No drawings.
