Solicitation due 7/30/2020 1:00 PM MT x The Purpose of this amendment is to:
a. Post the questions and answers and sign in sheets see attached.
b. extend the closing date form 7/28/2020 1:00PM MT to 7/30/2020 1:00PM MT
c. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
1. Please provide HVAC Demo Plans.
Answer. HVAC Demo plans do not exist. Windows removed for duct installation shall be replaced with white aluminum metal panel insulated with 2” rigid fiberglass.
2. Currently there is a temporary HVAC system that might interfere with the new system, what is the contractor to do with the temporary HVAC system?
Answer. Contractor shall remove temporary air handler and duct system and turn over to VA Maintenance.
3. P100 Plumbing Note 9 – Please provide a detailed drawing of the connection of the existing condensate drain line into the drain pipe inside the wall. The existing connection has an air gap into the existing utility sink.
Answer. In lieu of routing condensate inside wall provide ¾” type L rigid copper from above ceiling, through inside of wall, out a chrome escutcheon, to existing floor drain with air gap. Mount piping on floor with galvanized Unistrut. Cut pipe outlet at 45 degrees.
4. In regards to the waterproofing, does the concrete need to be waterproofed to a 100% RH?
Answer: concrete waterproofing shall meet or exceed minimum manufacturers requirements for flooring to be installed.
5. Document A102 floor finish plan calls for waterproofing in corridor only but not in room 103A and 103. Is that correct?
Answer: refer to sheet A101. All areas designated with hatch pattern, including rooms 103/103A will need waterproofing for cart wash project.
6. In the corridor where there are brick walls, the base installation is going to be rough. A possible solution would be to switch to Millwork base which is much thicker and would provide a better finished product. Please advise.
Interior Designer Answer: Millwork base would not work well in an area where waterproofing is needed. A profile rubber base may be an alternate option (this will likely increase your cost), or our standard rubber base. The flooring/base installer would need to account for the product adhering to brick and provide us a solution for being able to utilize that product. Whether that is skim-coating the portion of the brick where the base would adhere to, or specifying a glue that would suffice, I’m not sure what the right solution would be.
