About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a request for quote from the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 19 for a sound masking system at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. The RFQ seeks a sound masking system design and installation for three buildings on the medical center campus, to include control capabilities from a standalone network workstation located in the Biomed department. The system must allow control of sound masking levels in individual patient rooms and common areas across the three buildings. Additional requirements include sound masking controls accessible from nurse stations on specific floors using PCs or dedicated controllers. Total square footage requiring sound masking coverage across common areas and individual rooms is not fully documented but reference is made to building drawings attached to the RFQ.

A6. Expectation that the vendor will provide a PC so it can be controlled or a controller to be controlled.

Q7. Bldg H, Floor 2: Besides the 14 rooms needing treatment the SOW mentions multi-purpose common areas and hallways with the largest being 1304 sq. ft., what is the total sq. ft. needing sound masking in the common area and hallways?

A7. Not completely sure it isn’t easily documented. However, the common space will need to be abled to controlled differently then the hallways, different sound near the patient bedrooms. See the attached drawings.
