RFQ#: 36C25919Q0447
Questions and Answers
1. What is the needed delivery time in Days After Proof Approval?
Answer: Please provide timelines for delivery so that we can plan our ordering in to accommodate realistic production and delivery timeframes.
2. Will the Government accept a 1.75” coin with 4 to 5 weeks lead time?
Answer: No, the request was for a 2” coin.
3. Is the use of a China Vendor acceptable?
Answer: No. FAR Subpart 25.1 – Buy American – Supplies, applies to this requirement.
4. What size coin do want?
Answer: 3mm thick, 2” in diameter. Please see section 4.2 of the Statement of Work document for the technical features.
5. Would you prefer shipping to be included in the pricing or to be shown separately?
Answer: Included in the pricing.
6. Is the requirement only for Brass/Copper or would Iron coins be acceptable?
Answer: One of our goal is to have a coin that has significance in size and weight. Brass and Copper are similar in weight. Iron we believe would be lighter in weight. Iron would only be acceptable is in comparable weight due to increased thickness.
7. I understand the initial quantity is 5000, and subsequent orders are 1000 coins for each of the next 4 years. Will the design in subsequent years will be exactly the same as the initial year, or will new designs be needed in subsequent years?
Answer: No, the design in subsequent years may change in subsequent years. Pricing should reflect change in design.
8. Are shipping costs assumed to be included/amortized into the piece price that is to be quoted under section V (List of items) of the "combined synopsis/solicitation notice"?
Answer: Yes, please include shipping in the line item price.
9. Is there a target price, and if so, what is it?
Answer: No.
10. Is there a preferred/required form for the quotation to be submitted on, or are offerors expected to simply fill in and return section V (List of items) of the "combined synopsis/solicitation notice"?
Answer: You may fill in and return section V (List of Items).
10. Where are offerors expected to provide their narrative demonstrating that they are capable of meeting and delivering the requirements identified in the list of Line Items and the Statement of Work document? Is a separate Word/PDF document acceptable, or is there a specific form that is required?
Answer: A separate Word/PDF document is acceptable.
11. Upon award, will additional details on the design be provided (i.e. color codes for enamel that is used, type of edge finish, any texture that is used on the coin, preferred font(s) to be used in the design and where, dimensional callouts for text, logos, etc.)?
Answer: Yes.
12. 7) When do you expect to award the solicitation?
Answer: An award is expected by September 30, 2019.
