About this file
This document is Amendment 0001 to Solicitation 36C25727Q0024 for NTX Acid Pits Waste Removal services. The amendment extends the offer receipt deadline to October 13, 2026 at 9:00 AM CDT and provides answers to 13 questions submitted by potential offerors.
The solicitation pertains to hazardous waste removal and pit maintenance services at a Department of Veterans Affairs facility (Network Contracting Office 17, San Antonio, Texas). The contract builds upon a previous contract (36C25725P0075) valued at $227,100.00. The work involves managing eight 500-gallon chemical neutralization tanks containing caustic and xylene chemicals, along with potential sludge, waste water, and slime. Key service requirements include quarterly inspections to determine if pumping is needed, vacuuming limestone from all eight pits using industrial vacuum trucks, pressure washing each pit post-vacuum, refilling with new limestone (26 tons total across all pits), pH checks during quarterly inspections, piping inspection and restoration (lines directly around tanks only), full ICRA compliance, and disposal of removed materials to approved facilities with documentation. Work is recommended to be completed over two 12-hour days on weekends to minimize traffic disruption in hospital areas. Water removal from acid pits should occur a minimum of twice yearly up to four times annually. All removed materials must be treated as hazardous waste. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment and provide a signed copy with their offer submission.
