About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) clarification file for a federal contract solicitation for an audiometric suite at ELVAHCS (El Paso VA Health Care System). The document addresses specification ambiguities and provides site-specific installation details for the equipment.
Key clarifications include: the requirement is for a double wall booth (not a suite with single/double walls), with interior dimensions of 6'0" x 6'0" x 6'6" high, with a maximum four-inch tolerance permitted on length and width. The specifications confirm these are minimum interior dimensions, not exterior dimensions. The installation location is a ground floor room with a 9-foot suspended ceiling and sufficient space to accommodate 53-foot trailer deliveries at ground level. Additional site information specifies that no loading dock exists, elevator access is not required, delivery access is at a side/back entrance with flush-to-ground access, and installation personnel will coordinate with the Engineering team. Staff will be onsite during delivery and installation. The document notes that a site visit was not possible at the time of documentation due to ongoing construction at the facility. The floor plan shows the booth location (marked "AUD 139") within a room measuring approximately 16'4½" x 12'2"-3'12", with the booth positioned in the designated area marked by a blue X symbol.

Text version
• The way the salient characteristics are written, it’s unclear on whether this is a just a double wall booth or a ‘double wall exam/single wall control’ audiometric suite. Can you please clarify if this is a double wall booth or a single/double suite? Double wall booth
• The dimensions listed in the Salient Characteristics has the minimum interior height as 8’2”. This is the typical OUTSIDE dim for an ADA height booth (7’ interior). Can you please confirm the listed dimensions are indeed minimum interior dims, not exterior? Interior dimensions: 6'0" x 6'0" x 6'6" high
• Is the host room (room where the booth is being installed) on the ground floor? Yes
• What is the ceiling height in the host room? Is that a drop ceiling or hard ceiling? Ceiling height is 9 feet. Suspended ceiling.
• Does this location have the ability to receive shipments from a 53’ Trailer? Yes
• Any required attendee information or forms needed before the visit
• Any available/approved dates or time windows for the visit… Unfortunately, the site is currently under ongoing construction so a site visit would not be possible at this time, per Engineering.
I came across the solicitation for the Audiometric Suite going to ELVAHCS
In the specs, it lists the dimensions for one of the double wall rooms (8'-0" x 7'-8" x 8'-2" H) but it doesnt provide any dimensions for the control room and whether that is to be single walled or double walled So based of an existing booth we have in one of our other CBOCs, we are looking for:
- Double Wall Exam Booth: 6'0" x 6'0" x 6'6" high (interior). A maximum four-inch tolerance is allowed on length and width to permit booth to fit into standard footages of space. Heights specified in section are without ventilating units or discharge silencers, roof or wall mounted.
Lowest possible clearance to the ground.
It should look similar to:
• Installation room details and dimensions See below for the room, I marked where the booth will go within the room
• Floor plan or room layout (if available) See below
• Elevator access (if applicable) The room is on the ground floor, no elevator needed
• Loading dock receiving information There is no loading dock but Engineering has stated there is enough room for a 53’ trailer to deliver, delivery access is flush to the ground
• Parking and delivery access for installation personnel and equipment This will be conducted with the Engineering team. Personnel will have access to the space; it is a standalone building. Parking is in front of the building and deliveries will be to a side/back entrance. Staff will be onsite when the delivery and installation occurs.
