About this file
This Request for Information (RFI) details a Department of Veterans Affairs construction project for replacing condensate return units and pumps at the Garland VA facility. The solicitation is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set-aside under NAICS 238220, with an estimated procurement value between $100,000 to $250,000. The project involves replacing condensate return units and pumps in five different mechanical locations, including the Boiler Plant, East Tower Mechanical Room, Chiller Room, Sub-Basement, and Mechanical Room, with specific requirements for unit replacements, pump specifications, and control panel work.
Key project parameters include a 180-day performance period after Notice to Proceed, work to be completed during regular business hours, and general construction contract type. The project will utilize existing Siemens Apogee control systems, requires Lock Out Tag Out procedures with VA guidance, and involves steam pressures ranging from 15-25 psi. The solicitation is tax-exempt under Texas state code for materials incorporated into VA real estate, and no design-build services are required. Contractors will need to follow VA specifications for HVAC and boiler plant insulation and ensure all replaced units meet or exceed existing specifications.
