About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for solicitation 36C25724Q0421 to repair the perimeter fence at the Amarillo VA Medical Center. The RFI poses several questions to potential contractors, including whether the Statement of Work (SOW) requires just one column, if the VA will allow replacing only the damaged portion of the mow strip instead of the full 41 feet, if contractors can park and set up in the grass between the fence and road, if temporary fencing is required, and if the VA will provide specifications for a pier beneath the stone column. The related federal contract opportunity is for the actual repair of the perimeter fence, with an agency of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 17.

RFQ # 36C25724Q0421 – CONST. REPAIR PERIMETER FENCING – Amarillo vamc

RFI’S

1. Is the SOW requiring just one column?

2. The statement of work requires 41' of mow strip to be demoed and replaced. However, only a portion of the mow strip has been damaged. There will be significant savings to the VA if you will allow only the portion that is damaged to be cut out and replaced. Will the VA allow this and if so, how many linear feet should contractors bid for replacement?

3. Are we allowed to park and set up our work area in the grass between the fence and the road?

4. Is temporary construction fencing required during the project?

5. For long-term stability, the stone column should have a pier set beneath it. Will the VA provide a pier detail or specifications for the column?
