This document contains an amendment to a federal solicitation for roof replacement services on Building 7 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Temple, Texas. The solicitation is seeking offers to remove and replace the existing concrete tile roof with new tiles matching the original profile, color, and design. The project also involves repairing or replacing damaged decking, gutters, and downspouts to maintain the historical integrity of the building. Additional requirements include refurbishing exterior stair and ramp handrails, re-sloping low-slope roof areas, and installing a new TPO membrane to meet a minimum R-value of R-33. The amendment provides responses to contractor questions, updates prevailing wage requirements, and adds supplemental terms for combating COVID-19, such as vaccine or testing mandates for on-site workers. 3. Plan sheet R7-2 General note #20 : Does the VA require the existing lightning protection system to be brought up to code which would include connecting a surge protector to the existing electrical panel of the building or is the VA’s expectation to remove and re-install the existing lightning protection system with new attachment plates and required repairs per code using a contractor certified under NFPA and UL 96A for the installation who will providing a letter of certification for their work as detailed?
