About this file
This is Amendment 0002 to solicitation 36C25625Q0217 for Fire Alarm and Sprinkler System Maintenance Testing and Inspection at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 16 in Houston, TX.
The amendment posts Q&As and revises solicitation language, requiring contractor signature and return with quote submission. Key details from the Q&As include: parts must be furnished by contractor, separate companies must perform inspections versus maintenance, strobe and speaker testing must occur after normal hours (7:00am-5:00pm CT), and each option year includes a $100,000 maintenance/parts rider. The facility uses a Notifier Onyx System with Notifier devices throughout the campus. Table 36.1 provides detailed quantities of system components requiring inspection/testing at various frequencies (quarterly, semi-annually, annually). The 5-year sprinkler internal inspection is due in 2025, with the last one completed in 2020. Previous inspection reports will be provided to the awardee, and the NAICS code will remain unchanged despite requests for modification.
