About this file

This document contains a request for information responses and a related federal contract opportunity solicitation. The request for information responses provide clarification on storage of remaining furniture, acceptance of a substitute grab bar, and number of ceiling lifts required. The related federal contract opportunity posted on the Veterans Affairs website is seeking proposals for a project to correct MRI ADA deficiencies at a Veterans Health Administration medical center in Arkansas. The project scope includes adding a new dressing room and restroom, reconstructing an existing restroom and dressing room, and replacing an MRI room door to achieve ADA compliance. The solicitation will be open to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses only and require at least 25% of labor costs be spent on disabled veteran employees. Proposals are due by late 2022 and the project value is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000. The solicitation and drawings will be made available electronically in July 2022.

Project Number: 564-17-106 Project Title: Correct MRI ADA Deficiencies

Pre-Bid Requests for Information (RFI)

RFI - 1:

Are we responsible for storing the furniture that is to remain?

RFI - 1 Response: The VA will furnish on-site storage space for the subject furniture.

RFI - 2:

Section A5109 of the Specialty Equipment Schedule specifies that 36” long stainless-steel grab bar with a dual paper roll holder be used, but we are only able to find a 36” long ss grab bar with a single roll holder. Would this be an acceptable substitute?

RFI - 2 Response: An approved 36” long stainless-steel grab bar with a single paper roll holder in lieu of a 36” long stainless-steel grab bar with a dual paper roll holder is acceptable.

RFI - 3:

Would you please confirm only 1 bariatric ceiling lift will be needed for in-patient holding Room 1143-02.

Will there be any others needed?

RFI - 3 Response: Furnish and install ceiling lift(s) as required by the SOW, drawings, and specifications.
