| 10) | What is the testing frequency requirements for the outlets/Inlets? Typically, these are tested annually with the inspection of the ZVBs, AAPs, & MAPs, unless specified otherwise. 100% will be tested annually |
| 11) | Spees will test all outlets/inlets made available during the scheduled time of inspection. The goal is to achieve 100% of outlets/inlets. If an outlet, or a group of outlets, are not available due to contact precautions, or VA coordination failures there will be no cost reduction available for the inspector in those spaces. Will any outlets/inlets be unavailable for testing/inspection for any reason? All outlets will be made available |
12. Outlets/Inlets on flexible manufactured assemblies (booms) will be leak tested and flow checks; However, a more in-depth inspection of the manufactured assemblies is not currently included in the SOW. Does the VA wisht to add any inspection of manufactured assemblies in the testing requirements? Yes, add structural testing as well (per manufacturer’s recommendation)
13) Some Med Gas Inspection firms also provide Trace Gas Analysis in anesthetizing areas, Air Exchanges for positive/negative rooms, and environmental exposure testing. Would the VA like to include this service with the annual inspection? No What is the total count for the following:
Master alarms 4 Area alarms 267 Source equipment (Make/ model numbers, if possible) 10
What is the total for each of the following flexible connectors:
Pig tails 2,976 Flex line hoses unknown Please confirm if you want annual inspections to comply with 2021 NFPA as opposed to CMS’s current 2012 standards. 2021 NFPA The bid asks for quarterly break downs; how would we charge for the annual inspection as it makes up a bulk of the annual billing? Provide the total amount, the VA pays in arrears Source Equipment:
We can provide manufacturer’s recommended preventive maintenance on any of the source equipment at New Orleans VA Hospital, with the exception of the Oxygen bulk supply system.
This would include (but not limited to) any oil changes, filter replacements, & calibrations on the equipment shown during the tour. However, according to the master alarm panel shown at the engineering control center, there seems to be multiple pieces of source equipment. Building 1 module shows Oxygen bulk supply system, Building 2 shows Medical Air Compressor & Vacuum Pump and the manifolds for Nitrous Oxide, Nitrogen, & Carbon Dioxide, all visited during the tour. Building 3 shows dental vacuum and a Nitrous Oxide manifold, and Building 6 shows a Medical Air Compressor, items not visited during the tour.
Our questions are:
How many source equipment items are to be tested during the annual medical gas inspection? 10 Would you like us to provide a quote for servicing the equipment, and how often would you like that service done? (quarterly, bi-annually, or annually) Not needed Annual Inspection:
To provide you with a more accurate quote, we will need some inventory numbers on the items inspected.
How many facilities, or buildings will need to be tested during the visit? Already answered How many outlets/inlets are in the facility? Already answered How many zone valve boxes (ZVB), area alarm panels (AAP), and master alarm panels (MAP)? Already answered Outlets/Inlets are typically tested annually with the inspection of the ZVBs, AAPs, & MAPs, unless specified to be tested quarterly or bi-annually. Our service technician will test all outlets/inlets made available during the scheduled time of inspection with the exception of any contact precaution rooms. The goal is to achieve 100% of outlets/inlets.
Outlets/Inlets on flexible manufactured assemblies (booms) will be leak tested and flow checks, however for more in depth inspection of the manufactured assemblies a separate quote can be provided.
(NFPA 99 5.1.14.2.3.1)
