About this file
This scope of work document outlines requirements for replacing the cooling tower at the Eugene J. Towbin VA Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Key details include demolishing and replacing the existing closed-circuit cooling tower serving Building 190, which requires professional engineering services, HVAC load calculations, asbestos abatement, and installing a new cooling tower, pumps, filtration system, valves, strainers, piping, controls, and associated components. The contractor must also perform site preparation, demolition, removal of existing equipment, and provide a turn-key replacement. The period of performance is 60 days following a 10-week equipment lead time. The contractor must comply with all applicable construction standards and regulations, and employees must comply with VA security requirements.
The related federal contract opportunity provides additional context, with a solicitation number for a cooling tower replacement project at the specified VA hospital. The pre-solicitation states the estimated dollar value is between $100,000 and $250,000, and it is a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. Interested vendors must register at the specified website by the anticipated April 23rd solicitation issue date.
