4. (What are) the specifications for each drain to include:
1) Size of drain
2) Type of Drain (Cast iron, Copper, etc.)
1) Size of drain:
The drains should all be 2” battery going into 4” pipe that’s going into 6’’ pipe into 8’’ pipe and 11’’ pipe going out to the main sewer line. The lines are mostly made up of Cast iron piping for Nursing home, Canteen
Kitchen and (Main) Nutrition and Food Kitchen. The lines under the building for the Canteen kitchen that lead into physical therapy and down under the building, need to be replaced. The Main Kitchen lines that lead into Bio Medical in the basement and that go out under all the Shops and out to the main sewer line need to be replaced due to grease build up in the lines.
2) Type of Drain (Cast iron, Copper, PVC etc.)
The drain lines for the Nursing home, Canteen Kitchen and (Main) Nutrition and Food kitchen are all Cast iron pipe. There are only sections of PVC that have been replaced due to pipes breaking in certain sections.

6. Is a sole source option available for this procurement?
No. Market research indicates that multiple contractors are available who could potentially support this requirement.
Regulatory guidance mandates that competitive acquisition procedures be utilized whenever possible by the government.
7. Can you provide an onsite office/warehouse space to store chemicals and certain hand tools to expedite the preventive maintenance schedule and unscheduled repair activity? No mention is made in the PWS or elsewhere of any accommodations for the contractor.
No. Due to space limitations, associated space availability, security rules, and liability concerns onsite office and/or warehouse space cannot be provided to the contractor by the government
8. The bid calls for a treatment of 11 different locations. I need to know in those 11 locations, how many drains at each location wanting to be treated?”
10 drains require treatment at the specified locations to include a grease trap. A break down is listed below
Nursing Home Care Unit (HB-02 & HB-112) -One (1) drain per floor; Two (2) floors in total. Total=Two (2)
Canteen Kitchen (E-161, E161A, E-160, Grease Trap (Behind Canteen kitchen) Total = Four (4)
Four (4) total, minus the grease trap. One for each service sink behind the serving lines.
This includes: one(1) 3 compartment sink and three (3) 2 compartment sinks. The grease trap will need to be treated by pouring the treatment into the trap itself if there are any issues occurring. Pumping out the grease trap every 3 months to contain waste build up is recommended.
Nutrition & Food: (F-101, F110, F-111, F-117, B-111C) Four (4) total.
The first is F-111 that has one (1) 2 compartment sink in the salad prep room.
The rest of the room numbers (F-101, F110, F-117, B-111C) aren’t clearly labeled (and need renumbering). From the general area where treatment is required the following is noted: The dishwashing machine floor drain will need one (1) drain treatment setup to help with flow. The last few sinks consist of one (1) 2 compartment sink and one (1) 3 compartment sink. These sinks are adjacent to the steam kettles in the middle of the kitchen.
