Question Government Response
1. A contractor asked for clarification regarding the exact number of semi-annual and annual inspections that were needed on the elevators.
Please refer to “S06 Solicitation Amendment 36C25621Q0053 0001 Elevator Inspection Services” which incorporated a Revised Price Cost Schedule to be used for the preparation of Volume 2 – Price Volume. For each facility we need the following: 2 semi-annual inspections to be conducted in April and November, an annual safety test to be conducted in November, and a five-year safety (load) test to be done in option year four (if exercised). For specific details regarding the safety and safety/load tests see Item 5 in the Statement of Work.
2. A contractor asked if there were any contractors currently performing elevator maintenance services for the facility.
Yes. A current contract is in place for elevator maintenance services (which involves different equipment)-Contract 36C25618P0632, Contractor: ELEVATOR SERVICE, INC. DUNS 182955062. Please refer to the associated solicitation (36C25618Q0375) for more information about the specific services that were requested. The associated solicitation for this contract can be found on the contract opportunities website https://beta.sam.gov/ (inactive).
3. 1. Please clarify the wording in the B.2 Amended/Revised Price/Cost Schedule & Item Information.
Item 0001 calls for 2 Semi Annual inspections per year, Item 0002 calls for an Annual Safety Test (the word inspection is lined through). The elevator inspection companies function would be to witness the safety test during what would typically be an Annual inspection performed by the elevator maintenance company. So we would have one annual inspection and one semi-annual inspection. To be clear, one of the 2 tests should include a test witnessing the safety test. The elevator maintenance
B.2 Amended/Revised Price/Cost Schedule & Item Information is correct and reflects the requested services for this procurement. At each facility the contractor will be responsible for conducting two semi-annual inspections (one inspection in April and one inspection in November).
(The government needs the contractor to conduct inspections twice per year-semi-annually). The annual safety test and five-year safety (load) test is different from the inspections. The annual safety test and five-year safety (load) test is performed by the elevator maintenance company. The elevator inspection company would be required to witness/certify that the https://beta.sam.gov/ company, not the elevator Inspection company would actually perform the Safety Test.
safety/loads tests have been performed (by the elevator maintenance company). See Statement of Work (Item 5-Annual Safety Test, Five Year Safety Test)
