Responses to questions RFQ 36C25519Q0016 Refuse Recycling- Robert J. Dole VAMC

Question 1

Can you please clarify that the type of compactor requested in the solicitation is a Self-Contained style 30-yard compactor? This is the type of compactor currently on site at the facility, and the only type that can accept liquids from food waste, without leaking onto the ground. It is the type of compactor most commonly used at VA Medical Centers.

Response Yes, A Self-Contained Style 30-Yard Container is being requested.

Question 2

Can the Contracting Office please update Section 3.c.1.b. (page 12 of 64) to identify that one of the 30-yard containers is a 30-yard Open Roll Off Container, and that the other is a 30-yard Self-Contained Compactor?

Yes, Section 3.C.1.B can be changed to reflect this.

Question 3

Can a CLIN please be added to the Price/Cost Schedule to allow for the price per each cleaning (cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing) of the 30-yard Self-Contained Compactor?

Response No, as stated in the SOW, the containers will be cleaned/disinfected/sanitized at least once per quarter so this service should be considered routine and reflected in offers quote.

Question 4

Can the Contracting Office please remove the first sentence of Section 3.d.b. (page 12 of 64) since it is not consistent with the other sections of the Statement of Work? Remove this sentence: “Empty containers for compaction units 8, 20, and 40 cubic yards, will be installed before the full containers are removed from the premises."

Yes, The first sentence of Section 3.d.B can be removed or modified at time of award.

Question 5

I think there may be a problem with the Government estimate because the frequency of service in the solicitation is triple from current service for the compactor and about six times higher for the 30yd Open Roll Off.

Schedule should read as follows:

1008 30 CY Dumpster Once every other Week Building 12 12 MO
