The solicitation number is 36C25226Q0644, with Amendment 0001 effective August 24, 2026. The amendment also incorporates responses to six vendor questions that clarify key requirements and responsibilities: (1) removed Uroskop components become contractor property; (2) the VA will disconnect all power, gas, and utilities before contractor deinstallation work begins; (3) removal will utilize service elevators within the facility; (4) contractors may use the facility loading dock; (5) contractors need only leave floor and wall penetrations safe, sealed, and flush without finished restoration; and (6) infection control measures will be determined through an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) conducted by local FHCC infection control staff upon award, with no requirements beyond those identified in the assessment. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged.

All other terms and conditions of the Solicitation remain the same.

Johnson, Ashley Contracting Officer

See Vendor questions:

1. Will the Siemens Uroskop and associated components become the property of the contractor upon removal for recycling/disposition, or will the VA retain ownership of any portion of the system?

After removal, the components of the Uroskop table will be the property of the contractor.

2. Will electrical power and any other connected utilities be disconnected or isolated by the VA prior to the contractor beginning deinstallation, or is the contractor expected to perform any utility disconnect work?

The VA will disconnect all relevant power, gas, etc lines before contracted deinstallation.

3. Is there a designated removal route from the surgical department to a loading dock or exterior access point, and are there any elevators, door-width restrictions, stairs, or other access limitations we should account for?

There will be a route using service elevators to remove system components.

4. Will the contractor be permitted to use the facility loading dock for loading the removed system into our truck/trailer?

Yes

5. Regarding the requirement to patch or cap floor or wall penetrations, is the expectation limited to leaving penetrations safe, sealed, and flush, or is finished flooring/wall restoration also required?

Just leaving penetrations safe, sealed, and flush.

6. Are there any special infection-control containment requirements beyond compliance with the current VA/FHCC infection-control policies identified in the solicitation?

Upon award, a government document called an ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) will be filled out and reviewed by local FHCC infection control staff. Based on their assessment of the work done, certain infection control measures will have to be taken, but nothing beyond that.
