About this file
This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) for hazardous waste collection and disposal services at the Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The solicitation is an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a five-year ordering period from August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2030, divided into five one-year priced periods. The estimated contract value is $47 million, and the procurement is unrestricted and will be pursued on the open market. The contract will cover various waste streams including pharmaceutical waste, lab-toxic/poison materials, waste aerosols, mercury-containing materials, corrosive materials, and other hazardous waste types, with quantities ranging from 1-2,800 pounds or gallons per period.
Key response and performance details include a site visit scheduled for June 18, 2025, and questions due by June 23, 2025. Offerors must provide documentation of at least three consecutive years of hazardous waste removal experience, a quality control program, and complete pricing for all line items across all five priced periods. The government will evaluate quotes using a comparative approach considering price, experience, and quality control program, with the ability to select a quote that provides additional benefits beyond the minimum requirements. The contract will be administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs Great Lakes Acquisition Center, with invoicing through the VA Financial Services Center.
