Vendor #1 questions:
For the exterior treatments mentioned under 2. C. d) What is expected for the spring and fall treatments? Treatment of the nuisance pest will be left to the discretion of the pest control vendor Do you want all of the building’s foundations treated with a residual pesticide?
Is the method of treatment left to the discretion of the pest control company?
How many buildings are to be treated in the spring? All buildings within the perimeter How many buildings are to be treated in the fall? All buildings within the perimeter
How many special requests have there been in 2022? Special requests are minimal to nil How many special requests have there been in 2021? Special requests are minimal to nil How many special requests have there been in 2020? Special requests are minimal to nil
A special request being a call requesting a pest control companies service outside the regular scheduled IPM visits. Are there regular scheduled IPM visits the language in the document is not clear on that if so how many visits per month?
Under Description of Services:
1. Frequency of Visits:
The Contractor shall establish a regular schedule to provide services as needed in conformance with the IPM Plan
We are not sure from the wording if there is to be monthly pest control services.
· Is there monthly IPM services performed on the exterior of the buildings? Currently the services are the responsibility of the two in-house pest controller with the work being divided between them.
· If there is monthly pest control how many buildings are to be inspected treated each month? All buildings within the perimeter
· Or does this mean that you would call the pest control company only when you need something? Outside issues are generally not as emergent as bedbugs and other issues within the interior.
Has there been any mosquito control conducted by your pest control venders the past five years? None by vendors
How many times have your pest control venders been called for ornamental pests in the past five years? none
How many interior bait stations would we be responsible for? none
How many interior traps would we be responsible for? none
How many exterior bait stations would we be responsible for? All exterior stations will be the responsibility, not including the addition of needed additional bait stations. I(we will furnish additional bait stations as required)
How many animal/wildlife (not including mice and rats) requests have there been in the past five years? Average of 15 – 20 per year
To confirm this contract would be for the exterior of the buildings only? Only exterior
Vendor #2 questions:
1. How many exterior rodent bait stations are currently present? Does the government expect these stations to be replaced by the new contractor upon award? The government will supply the number of needed bait stations.
3. How many after-hours service requests at each site have then been in the past 12 months? The current pest controllers are scheduled from 0700 - 2330
4. What are the regular service days for these sites?
There are no set days, vendor will only be required to satisfy the SOW on their own timetable
5. How many wildlife services/service requests occurred over the past 12 months? Approximately 15 - 20
6. How many rodent services occurred over the past 12 months? Up to 10 per month
7. Is there any active pest activity occurring in this VA site? Nothing other than BB, ants, roaches, wild life are the order of the calls with peak in winter time
