LOCATION:Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, WI

Amendment 00003 hereby incorporates the following clarifications/change(s) into the solicitation package.

A. VENDOR QUESTIONS:

· 11/22/19 email:

1.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Amendment #1 state specs override scope of work. Specification Section 09 06 00 Schedule of Finishes lists InPro Corner Guards and Handrailing. How many are required and where are they located?

VA REPLY: No corner guards or handrails required on this project.

2.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: The amendment calls out a total of (8) new doors as shown on A-1. The scope of work calls out a new entry door 6. A. vii. Does this make it a total of 9 new doors? Can you provide dimensions/specs of the new door and frame if different than the existing one described in the scope of work?

VA REPLY: This project requires only the 8 new doors listed in Amendment A00001.

3.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: The answer to the question in the bid amendment about the vanity and countertops in the bathroom(11/12/19 email question 2) does not clarify how many counters and vanities in the project. Do all three bathrooms get solid surface countertops with vanities for each sink shown? Are the vanities basic two door flat front cabinets with a solid surface top?

VA REPLY: All 3 bathrooms get new countertops with two door flat front cabinets

4.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: The asbestos test reports show asbestos in ceramic tile that gets removed. Has this already been abated?

VA REPLY: Assume an approximate area of 2’ x 3’ for ceramic tile abatement.

5.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: The asbestos report also calls out ceiling tile/mastic containing ACM that is scheduled to remove. Has this been abated?

VA REPLY: All ceiling tile and grid shall be removed and replaced. No abatement required.

6.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: What does the substrate consist of under the existing linoleum floor that is called out to leave in place?

VA REPLY: Assume Wood plank or plywood sub flooring.

7.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Door operators are listed in the specification. Please indicate location and quantity if required.

VA REPLY: One door opener is required on the exterior door on the south side of the tramway connector.

8.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Room 210 calls out a new solid core door. Is this in addition to the doors called out in Amendment #01? Does this door and frame need to be fire rated?

VA REPLY: Yes. Yes, with 1-hr rating.

9.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Please explain what needs to be done to make the IT room fire rated construction per IAW NFPA 75? What is the existing construction?

VA REPLY: Room shall have a 2-hour fire rating; contractor shall provide 2 sheets of 5/8” drywall and paint.

10.) CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Is all lead paint on interior surfaces required to be removed or just loose and flaky paint?

VA REPLY: Contractor shall scrape off loose paint and smooth with a leveling substance to match existing finishes

· 11/27/19 email:

1. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: On the previous iteration of this project there were plans to remove and replace the existing pneumatic thermostats controlling the radiant valves. Those don’t appear to be on this job. Can you please confirm they are no longer desired?

VA REPLY: No longer required. Use existing thermostat controls.

1. While the SOW makes it clear that there is “No BAS system integration required” into the Johnson Controls Metasys system for this project the specifications do(es) have a 23 09 section.

1. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Is 23 09 responsible for wiring and mounting thermostats?

VA REPLY: Re use and remount existing thermostats.

1. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Is the 24 hours of training required by the specifications for 23 09 required on this project?

VA REPLY: No longer required.

1. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Is validation required of the 23 09 section?

VA REPLY: No longer required.

1. The SOW also requires that IT rooms “shall be provided with temperature and humidity monitoring and alarms.”

2. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: How is this to be accomplished?

VA REPLY: There must be a device in Room 210 to monitor and be locally alarm with a standard audible alarm. It will not be connected to MetaSys BAS.

2. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Is the alarming and monitoring to be done through the Metasys BAS?

VA REPLY: No

2. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Is there a specific requirement regarding the humidity sensor accuracy (i.e. is 3% acceptable)?

VA REPLY: Yes, 3% is acceptable.

2. CONTRACTOR QUESTION: Is local alarming required?

VA REPLY: Yes.
