CONTRACTOR RFI’S/QUESTIONS AND THE RESPONSES

Question: “All work is to be performed after normal hours?”

Answer: About 95% of the work must start after-hours, generally after 4:30pm; this will have the least amount of impact to the patients.

The following areas are the exception: B081, B083, B103, B105, all mechanical rooms, B274, B298/A/B, data closets, 6122A, 6222A, 7th & 8th floors, and building #11.

The CLC can only be accessed from 4:30pm to 8:30pm, as patients live in this area and this time frame will have the least amount of impact.

Rooms 1005, 1009, 1025, and 1029 may have hospice type patients in them, access will be as available.

Rooms 1308 through 1325 are in the urgent care area and access will depend if patients are being seen, as it is open 24/7.

Question: “Will the floor or block of rooms scheduled to receive new fixtures be unlocked at the start of each shift?”

Answer: No, but a VA staff person will provide access to as many rooms as possible prior to starting shift.

Question: “Will an escort, VA representative, or guard be present (within sight of work crews) at all times to unlock doors to rooms scheduled to receive new fixtures on each shift?”

Answer: Yes, some areas will require a VA representative be present at ALL times.

Question: “Will the contractor superintendent on site be given a key to unlock doors to rooms receiving new fixtures?”

Answer: Only for mechanical spaces.
