Question 1: Are there multiple buildings as part of the VA Ann Arbor site?
Answer 1: Yes, there are eight buildings at the VA Ann Arbor Main site as well as five CBOC/outpatient clinics.
Question 2: Does the VA currently hold the contracts for ISP service at all locations, and is the intent that the VA will continue to maintain these contracts?
Answer 2: The VA does not hold the contract for ISP services at these locations. The ISP services were covered within the previous guest WiFi contract.
Question 3: If the VA does not hold the ISP contracts, can you provide service specifications for each location.
Answer 3: Ann Arbor main facility – Comcast 500Mbps down/ 50Mbps up
Flint CBOC – Comcast 150Mbps down/ 20Mbps up
Jackson CBOC – Comcast 150Mbps down/ 20Mbps up
Toledo CBOC – Buckeye 200 Mbps down/ 5Mbps up
Packard Rd – Comcast 150 Mbps down/ 20Mbps up
Greed Rd Sleep/Derm – Comcast 150 Mbps down/ 20Mbps up
Question 4: Is the current hardware under any type of service/warranty contract? If so who holds these contracts?
Answer 4: The hardware isn’t currently under any warranty.
Question 5: If there is no service/warranty contracts, if equipment fails is the expectation that it will be replaced and not repaired?
Answer 5: Under our current guest WiFi contract, the services of troubleshooting and replacing defective hardware is provided by the contractor. However, the cost of new equipment is not
36C25024Q0275 Page 3 of 4 covered. If a piece of equipment fails and a new one is needed, a quote is provided from the contractor, the VA buys the equipment (if it is deemed needed by the COR), and the contractor then installs the equipment. This type of service will also be expected in this contract.
Question 6: If equipment needs to be replaced, how will the VA reimburse for the equipment?
Answer 6: If a piece of equipment fails and a new one is needed, a quote is to be provided from the contractor to the COR. The COR will determine if it is needed and if it is, will then put in the request to purchase the equipment, and the contractor then installs the equipment. The contractor must wait until the purchase is made before any new equipment is installed or old equipment replaced.
Question 7: Can current Floor plans be provided?
Answer 7: Floor plans can be provided, however due to construction projects that have occurred/are currently happening at the facility, they cannot be deemed completely accurate.
Detailed plans will be provided upon award. Below link is to interactive map and general floor plan for Ann Arbor VA Medical center.

Question 8: What is the current cabling (Cat5 / Cat5E / Cat6)?
Answer 8: Cat6 cabling (pink only)
Question 9: If cabling repairs/replacements are needed who is responsible for the work?
Answer 9: The VA will be responsible for all cabling between switches, AP’s, and routers at all locations. This does not include the cabling from the road to the routers that is provided/managed by the ISP’s.
Question 10: When was the last technical refresh done of the VGIA network?

Question 11: What is the ISP bandwidth required at each location (down and up)?
Answer 11: The VA requirement is that users should be achieving speeds of 5mbps up/down during our high traffic times. This is estimated at 1,500 concurrent users at the Ann Arbor Main Campus, 500 concurrent users at the Toledo CBOC, and 250 concurrent users at all other CBOC locations.
