SOLICITATION NO 36C25021B0011- PROJECT No.: 553-20-204 Title: Renovate Pharmacy

USP 800

May 3, 2021

RFI Responses provided by Nagel Architects + Engineers.

1. Please clarify if ALTERNATES #1 & #2 are to be ADD or DEDUCT Alternates. The project drawing Cover sheet, G-001 lists item D7 ‘Alternate Deduct List’ and states to OMIT Clean Room Diffuser and Light Fixture replacement.

Response: All references to "Alternates #1 & #2", "Deduct Alternates" or any other language that suggests a deviation from a single base bid, are to be ignored. The alternates originally included in the design were determined to be of low value and incidental, so they were removed from the project.

2. Note #4 on drawing EL1.0 states to provide all new lighting in the Clean Room and that the Base Bid scope of work shall be leaving all existing light fixtures and associated controls to remain. What are the Alternates 1 & 2 verses what is to be Base bid?

Response: All references to "Alternates #1 & #2", "Deduct Alternates" or any other language that suggests a deviation from a single base bid, are to be ignored. The alternates originally included in the design were determined to be of low value and incidental, so they were removed from the project.

3. Government Standard Form 1442 for this project does not include line items to price Alternates 1 and 2, shall the bidding Contractor write on the form to price Alternates 1 and 2 or will a revised, project specific Bid Form 1442 be issued?

Response: Not required; see response to questions one and two.

4. We note that there is a specification 08 16 13, FRP Fiberglass Doors and Frames and 08 17 10, Integrated Door Assemblies in the Specification Book. The drawings would indicate that there is no material that is specified in these specifications’ sections required for this project and that a specification section is needed for hollow metal doors and frames and wood doors. Is this correct? and if so, please issue these required specification sections.

Response: Match existing (brand or equal) hollow metal frame and Fiberglass doors for LL101B.

FRP door, item #649501 door assembly FRP 3970 continuous hinge with edge guard, color blue-pebble finish. Refer to specification section 08 16 13 FRP Fiberglass Doors and Frames.

5. Please indicate the required metal support framing if required for the floor penetrations for the ductwork both in the supported main floor slabs and interstitial floor slabs.

Response: Dampers must be installed compliant with NFPA requirements and UL555 standards.

Horizontal damper retainer angles are required and can be factory ordered or field installed.

Typically 1-1/2”x1-1/2”x1/8” steel angle.

6. Drawing MH1.0 shows a fumehood located in unpacking room LL107. Exhaust fan EF L03 shown on drawing MH1.3 is associated with this fumehood. This exhaust fan is controlled via a VFD. What is the sequence of operation for the control of exhaust fan EF L03 with respect to the

fumehood? Should this control be via the existing Siemens building management system for this building? Should the sash position on the fumehood be used to control exhaust fan EF L03 or should the pressure relationship of the room to the corridor be used to keep the room negative to the corridor?

Response: Fan VFD is meant for balancing purposes only and fan is meant to operate as constant volume. Exhaust Fan is meant to operate continuously and not anticipated to be programmed into the building BMS.
