Statement of Work
Project#: 515-14-123 Project Title: Replace Fire Alarm System
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, supervision, testing, as-built information and all other related information for Project 515-14-123 Replace Fire Alarm System at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan.
This project will replace all alarm initiating and indicating devices, control panels and annunciator panels found in buildings on the Medical Center, the monitoring stations in both the fire department and a redundant station in the police dispatch. Project will also replace fire alarm wiring found in buildings and fiber optic terminations but will utilize existing fiber optic lines outside the buildings and provide a complete system when finished.
• The installation will be completed by an installer who is certified by the manufacturer to install each component.
• The contractor will provide support during a 330 day diagnostic period prior to acceptance and the start of the warranty period.
• The contractor will provide a list of companies capable of supporting emergency calls in accordance with the time frames outlined in the specifications.
• Provide a list of factory approved or qualified servicing organizations capable of equipment repair and periodic / annual maintenance.
• Contractor shall show experience of similar installations in size and scope completed within the last 3 years and will provide a list of installations completed in Government hospitals.
• The installed system will allow the government to purchase and install replacement and new components.
• The contractor will provide training for end users for programming and changing of the software system.
The IT Security requirements for Certification & Accreditation requirements do not apply and a Security Accreditation Package is not required. The contractor and all sub-contractors will be required to complete annual privacy training by reading and signing the Privacy Training TMS 20939 prior to beginning any work.
The General Contractor will receive a total 270 days to complete the construction. Once construction is complete, the contractor will support a 330 day diagnostic period. The total performance period will be 600 days. The warranty period will start following the diagnostic period.
