About this file
This sources sought notice is requesting capability statements for a spectral analyzer system to support research activities at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System Research department. The notice describes the required Cytek Aurora 5 Laser system and its components, including five lasers, up to 40 detectable colors, 64 fluorescence channels, 96-well sampling capability, and full spectrum unmixing without filters or PMTs. Interested parties who are OEMs, authorized dealers, distributors, or resellers of all listed items may submit capability statements by 16:00 EST on June 11, 2021 to Elaine DiBucci at elaine.dibucci@va.gov. The purpose of this notice issued under NAICS code 334516 is to gather information on potential qualified sources and their size prior to potential issuance of an RFQ as a brand name or equal requirement.

N 334516 US Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Regional Procurement Office (RPO) East 323 North Shore Drive, Suite 500 Pittsburgh PA 15212-5319
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System Research department has a need for a spectral analyzer system to support current research activities, Brand Name or equal to the Cytek Auroa 5 and components described below.
Cytek Aurora 5 or equivalent. System consists of:
1. Cytek Aurora 5 Laser US/V/B/YG/R (64+3 Channel)
a. 5-laser flow cytometer
b. Workstation w/computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse
i. Intel Core i7, 3.6 GHz
ii. 64-bit
iii. 32 GB RAM
iv. 500 GB Hard Drive
v. 530 NVIDIA GeForce Video Card
vi. 32-in UHD 4K Monitor
vii. Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
c. Additional copy of SpectroFloTM
d. Fluidic reservoirs
e. QC and consumable parts kit
f. 1-year warranty
2. Cytek Auto Micro-Sampling System Salient Characteristics
1. Five lasers: Violet, Blue, Yellow-Green Red, Ultraviolet.
2. 3 scattering channels
3. Up to 40 colors detected
4. 64 fluorescence channels
5. Capable of detecting up to 30 fluorochromes using spectral analysis.
6. 96-well sampling capability
7. Autofluorescence extraction
8. High-sensitivity Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM), 16-channel semiconductor detector
9. Flat top beam profiles
10. Full emission spectra
11. Highly overlapping dyes
12. Multiparametric data
13. 100 mW 405 nm laser
14. SSC detector
System must be able to:
· Detect up to 40 colors including fluorochromes with overlapping emission spectra.
· Immune cell subsets identified by single cell RNA seq need to be validated by VA researchers for protein expression. System must be able to detect up to 100 rare immune cell subsets
· The equipment must have high sensitivity, which is optimal to analyze the most challenging cell populations such as cells with high autofluorescence or low levels of expression of biomarkers. The machine must not require changing optical filters for any fluorochromes, and any commercially available fluorochromes must be be excited by the system.
· Full spectrum unmixing for detection of fluorescent signals. No band pass filters or photomultiplier tubes (PMTs)
· Cytometer must have flat top laser beam profile with narrow vertical beam height for enhanced capacity to detect rare events and particles smaller than cells
· Ability to use violet laser line for cell or particle scatter measurements.
· Operating voltage can be 100 or 240 V
· No special environmental requirements (air, humidity, and temperature)
This is a Sources Sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 334516. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may issue this RFQ as a Brand Name or Equal requirement in accordance with VAAR Clause 852.211-73 on eBuy or Fed Biz Ops. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than 16:00 EST, Friday, June 11, 2021. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Elaine DiBucci at elaine.dibucci@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
