About this file

This file is an amendment to Solicitation 36C24926Q0231 containing questions and answers regarding the AHU Refurbish project. The amendment addresses vendor inquiries related to the refurbishment and rehabilitation of eight Air Handling Units (AHUs: 6A, 7A, 8A, 9A, 14, 33, 39, and 43) at Robley Rex Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Key clarifications include confirmation that chilled water piping and steam piping connections located behind the AHUs are difficult to access but not completely inaccessible, and that although McQuay units are no longer in production, Daikin (which acquired McQuay in 2006) continues to manufacture OEM replacement coils compatible with these units, making replacement of the entire unit unnecessary. The amendment also includes a vendor site visit sign-in sheet for Part 2 of the questions and answers process.

The solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under a 100% Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns. The contract period runs from July 1, 2026, through October 1, 2026, with a NAICS code of 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors) and Product/Service Code J041 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Air Circulating Equipment). The solicitation is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 9.
