About this file

This document contains answers to contractor questions regarding a federal solicitation for replacement and upgrade of air handling units at a Veterans Affairs medical center. The solicitation seeks to replace air handling units numbers 7, 19, 3B, and 53 through two separate projects, with proposals due by June 20, 2023. The contractor must dedicate a full-time superintendent to the project and can utilize the superintendent as the site safety and health officer. The VA will provide a laydown area and one parking space for contractor use. Weekend and evening work may be required to minimize disruptions and will be identified in the project schedule. The contractor must submit any significant equipment lead times in writing. While the superintendent can also serve as the safety officer, they cannot fill the quality control role.
