621-22-113 Replace 160 Domestic Water Piping KTR Questions

1. General: moving VA property Where equipment, desks etc. need to be moved to preform our work who's responsibility is it VA or contractor? The VA will remove/relocate any non-fixed property upon 7-day prior written request. The Contractor will be responsible for moving/relocating fixed property left within workspaces as may be needed for access and clear space to work. In either case, coordinate with COR as early as possible.

2. Page 1 of solicitation lists NAICS code as 238220. Page 5 lists NAICS as 238290. Can the Government please A: NAICS is 238220 - Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning Contractors as noted on page 1 confirm what the primary NAICS code for the solicitation is?

3. Drawings wall finishes:

Numerous notes on the drawings call for gyp board and wall covering to be removed. I.E.PD141A Architectural note 1. The drawings do not identify what type of finish is existing. Can the Government, please supply type of existing (paint, tile, wet-wall, wall paper...) finishes at each location where wall demo is required?

A: The intent of the design is to have the contractor access in-wall water lines from which ever side of the wall is least disruptive to existing conditions. i.e. If one side of the wall has tile and other has painted gypsum wallboard and they are equally accessible, then the preferred access to perform that work would be from the painted gypsum wallboard side. Walls in most of the rooms and hallways consist of Gypsum painted walls, except bathrooms and the kitchen. Bathrooms in general consist of Gypsum walls with 2” ceramic tiles 48” above finished floor. New finishes in bathrooms N011, N047 ,N201, and P200 should not be disturbed unless otherwise indicated. The kitchen area (Phase 15) consists of Gypsum walls with 4” ceramic white/off white/some mint tiles throughout from floor to ceiling. Phase 3 has CMU walls, brick exterior, and some gypsum painted walls. No walls requiring work have vinyl wall (wallpaper) coverings. Housekeeping closets may contain vinyl, stainless steel, or 2” tile wall protection 48” above finished floor. There is some wall protection in Vestibule L201. Some locations have wall mounted fixtures or signage that may need removal and reinstallation. Contractor will need match existing finishes disturbed as a result of this work to the best of there ability. Coordinate with COR for any other concerned after award.
