1. Question: SOW requires the PRIME to replace any extinguishers not serviceable. During the site meeting, it was stated by the COR to replace using VA stocked extinguishers, meaning to replace using VA stock, not purchase new at our cost. Can you confirm the intent of the Solicitation?

Answer: A non-serviceable fire extinguisher will be replaced out of extra fire extinguishers in VA storage.

2. Question: Extinguishers - What is the range of ages of current units in place? What percentage of total for each age group?

Answer: CO-1963-2017 (28); K-1999- 2018 (29); H2O -2003-2008 (9); FE-36 2007 (3); BC -1967-2012 (11); ABC 1986 – 2018 (688); and Clean 2012 (1). Revised fire extinguisher data with the manufacture date is provided in this amendment.

Answer: Door Height – 8 feet.

Answer: No emergency exit signs contain tritium.

Question: Upon a fire extinguisher requiring maintenance (6yr/12yr), can the contractor temporarily replace the fire extinguisher with one of the spare ones (currently in the VA stock) or does the contractor need to use one of their own? If contractor has use of the VA’s spare extinguishers, how many do they have?

Answer: The fire extinguisher can be replaced with one from VA Storage. Approximately 80 in Storage.

Answer: The contractor will update the information in the barcode scanner. Once a fire extinguisher is replaced, it stays in that location until it needs maintenance or was used. The one requiring service will go into VA storage once it is serviceable.

11. Question: If an extinguisher has to be replaced due to damage or failure, is the contractor responsible for replacing that extinguisher with a new extinguisher or will the VA use one of their spare units to replace?
