Yes. A site visit will be offered to all prospective offerors. The date, time, location, and point of contact will be provided by amendment to the solicitation.
Question 8 — Equipment Access and Rigging
1. Please provide information regarding access limitations, loading restrictions, overhead clearances, and rigging requirements.
1. Is the existing skid located at grade level or does removal require special lifting equipment?
1. Are there any doorway, ceiling, structural, or operational constraints?
Government Response:
Both existing pump skids are located at grade level on concrete housekeeping pads within the plant.
A roll-up door on the side of the plant is available for moving equipment in and out of the building. Access conditions may be verified during the site visit.
Question 9 — Outage Requirements
1. Please identify any restrictions on outage duration.
1. Is a specific outage window required by Plant Operations to maintain service to the hospital kitchen refrigeration system?
1. Will phased shutdowns or temporary cooling measures be required?
Government Response:
Work shall be performed on one pump at a time so that condenser water service is not interrupted. Pump A shall be replaced first, as it is currently out of service.
Outage coordination shall be scheduled with Plant Operations. Temporary cooling measures are not anticipated provided the one-pump-at-a-time sequence is maintained.
Question 10 — Water Treatment and System Refill
1. Will the Government provide condenser water treatment following system refill, or is the contractor responsible for restoring water chemistry?
1. Is the existing condenser water system currently treated, and can recent water quality reports be provided?
Government Response:
The Government maintains a contracted chemical water treatment service on site. The existing condenser water system is currently treated. Water treatment following system refill will be performed by the Government's existing water treatment contractor; no water treatment services are required of the contractor under this contract.
