About this file
This is an Amendment to a Previous Combined Solicitation that cancels Solicitation 36C24826Q0562 in its entirety with no award. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8, issued this cancellation regarding a requirement for Deionized (DI) Water System maintenance services at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. The original solicitation sought a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, consumables, and supervision for preventive maintenance, inspection, and consumable exchange services for two DI water systems, including tank exchange and system monitoring. The Government intended to award a firm-fixed-price contract with a base year and four one-year option periods. The original response deadline was April 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
The Government determined that the requirement as originally defined lacked sufficient detail for vendors to accurately and consistently price the work. Ambiguities within the Performance Work Statement resulted in materially different vendor interpretations of scope and associated risk, preventing the Government from determining fair and reasonable pricing or conducting meaningful comparative evaluation of quotes received. Consequently, the solicitation is canceled with no award, and the Government will re-evaluate and further define the requirement before re-soliciting at a later date. The Product Service Code is J046, NAICS Code 221310, and the contracting officer is John H. Shultzaberger at the Gainesville, Florida contracting office.

DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this amendment is to cancel Solicitation 36C24826Q0562 in its entirety.
After review of the solicitation and quotes received, the Government has determined that the requirement, as currently defined, does not provide sufficient detail for vendors to accurately and consistently price the work. The ambiguity within the Performance Work Statement has resulted in materially different interpretations of the scope of work and associated risk by the vendor community.
As a result, the Government is unable to determine fair and reasonable pricing or conduct a meaningful comparative evaluation of quotes received.
Accordingly, the solicitation is hereby canceled with no award.
This requirement will be re-evaluated, further defined, and re-solicited at a later date once sufficient detail has been developed to support accurate and competitive pricing.
