DESCRIPTION

The Purpose of this Amendment is to Update the Statement of Work, change the Cost and Price Schedule, extend the closing date and the question due date of the solicitation.

1. Closing date of this solicitation is changed from 07-18-2024 at 16:30 Eastern Time to 07-26-2024 at 16:30 Eastern Time.

2. Due date for questions regarding this solicitation is changed from 07-12-2024 at 16:30 Eastern Time to 07-18-2024 at 16:30 Eastern Time.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Background: The Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, The DA and Condensate Alarms only sound off locally. The DA Supply Steam Relief Valve needs to be changed to Cast Steel. The CO Monitors need to alarm out in the Plant.

Objective: Replace the DA Relief Valve and various alarms in the boiler plant as stated below.

Scope of Work:

DA Steam Relief Valve Remove existing Cast Iron Relief Valve on DA Steam Supply Furnish and install new Cast Steel Relief Valve on DA Steam Supply

KUNKLE MODEL 300

Suitable for use on Pressure Vessels 4 Inch 300# Inlet Flange 6 Inch 150# Outlet Flange 9427 Lb/Hr Cast Steel Set Pressure 15 psi

DA and Surge Tank Remote Alarm Panel in Boiler Office:

Contractor will provide and install a remote alarm panel in the Boiler Plant Office.

This panel is for the DA and surge Tank alarms.

Contractor will run conduit and wiring to remote alarm panel from DA and Surge Tank.

DA High Water Alarm will be connected to remote panel and alarm audibly and visually.

DA Low Water Alarm will be connected to remote panel and alarm audibly and visually.

DA Overflow Alarm will be connected to remote panel and alarm audibly and visually.

Surge Tank High Water Alarm will be connected to remote panel and alarm audibly and visually.

Surge Tank Low Water Alarm will be connected to remote panel and alarm audibly and visually.

CO Alarms in the Plant Contractor will furnish and install 2 new MSA CO Monitoring system alarms (audible and visual) in the new Boiler Plant. One on each end of the Boiler Plant.

Contactor will furnish and install conduit and wiring to new CO alarms in the Plant.

Contractor will connect new CO Monitor Alarms to the existing MSA CP Monitoring system. The COR will observe the testing of the Remote Alarms.

Natural Gas Incoming High Gas Pressure alarm The Contractor will connect an audio and visual alarm to the existing High Gas Pressure switch coming into the Plant.

Propane Gas Incoming High Gas Pressure alarm The Contractor will install a High Gas Pressure Switch on the Propane Gas System. The Contractor will install an audio and visual alarm in the Plant, for the Propane High Gas Pressure switch coming in to the Plant.

Low Atomizing Media Pressure Switches The Contractor will install a secondary Low Atomizing Media Pressure Switch on each of the three Boilers. The switch will have to be wired in to the existing Boiler Control System and work when tested.

Provide all documentation to the COR

Preferred Qualifications:

· Technician shall possess 5 years’ experience working on Hospital Boiler Plants to perform the services listed in the SOW.

Required Certifications:

· The contractor and all individuals working on the project site must have taken the OSHA Certified 10-hour construction safety course.

Safety Regulations:

All OSHA safety regulations shall be observed during the project. The VA Safety Officer shall have full authority to see that the contractor obeys all safety rules and regulations relative to the fulfillment of this project. Contractors will wear Safety Harnesses when working over ten feet above the ground. Contractor will ensure all Lockout Tagout procedures in the Plant are followed while doing Electrical Work. Provide the necessary barricades/signage where required.

Scheduling and Hours of Work: All work in areas involved shall be scheduled with the POC. Work will be performed between 0800 and 1630 Monday through Friday except on Federal Holidays. The 11 holidays observed by the Federal Government, are New Years’ Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Juneteenth, MLK day, Presidents Day, Independence Day and Christmas or any other day specifically declared by the President of the United States to be a national holiday.
