VENDOR QUESTIONS & ANSWERS (Q&As) Television Signal Subscription Services
(RFQ 36C24823Q1463)
The following questions were asked of the Government relating to the subject requirement which are hereby posted and responded to.
Q&As:
1) Question: If the channels are to be delivered without the installation of a headend system, does that mean that an existing headend system will be reused? Are the main building and the fisher buildings wired together and if there are separate accounts for each of these buildings?
Answer: We don’t have room for headend cable boxes, modulators, or additional racks. The current provider has everything house in one rack and doesn’t require the equipment I named above. The main campus and the Fisher Houses are currently on the same account.
2) Question: Does this solicitation have a set-aside requirement (SDVOSB, etc.)?
Answer: This is an unrestricted solicitation open to both large and all small businesses.
3) Question Are services currently available to all locations from the DMARC location?
Answer: Yes
4) Question: Who is the current provider (incumbent)?
Answer: Charter (Spectrum)
5) Question Access to the roof?
Answer: If needed yes
6) Question: Can you provide any diagrams showing routes from main bldg. to the Fisher Houses?
Answer: Fisher House I had TV services before the main campus. So they’re cabling currently comes in from the street. I don’t have as builts for Fisher House II. We know the path inhouse and can provide that as needed.
7) Question: Is satellite delivered programming allowed? This will require a headend to be placed on campus.
Answer: Satellite can be acceptable but only as previously mentioned if they don’t require additional racks, cable boxes, or modulators. We simply don’t have the space.
8) Question: I just saw this in the documents, was there a site visit? Can I get the documents supplied if so.
Answer: There has not been a site visit yet. We can host one as needed.
9) Question: Site maps and drawings related to satellite/cable TV services will be provided by the government during the site visit.
Answer: We can provide a site map. We don’t have as builts.
