About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for reusable medical device preventive maintenance and repair services. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8, located at the VA Caribbean Health System in San Juan, Puerto Rico, seeks a vendor to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on reusable medical devices via a firm-fixed price contract from May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024, with four optional one-year extensions. The solicitation is set aside for small businesses with a NAICS code of 811210 and is open for questions through April 7, 2023 and responses due by April 10, 2023. The amendment provides answers to vendor questions, clarifying that services must be performed at the vendor's facility using a mobile lab onsite as needed, and outlining a biweekly visit schedule for repairs.

DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to the questions made by vendors in response to solicitation no. 36C24823Q0874.

The questions made in response to the aforementioned solicitation, as well as the answers are as follows:

1- Question: Would it be possible to service 20-25 trays in one visit per month? This would mean that the Contractor would visit VACHS 12 times, annually.

Answer: No. We cannot remove all of our facility’s trays from circulation at the same time. This will create a burden on our facility, in addition to adding to its current workload.

2- Question: Would it be possible to service 2 – 6 day stints (periods) servicing all sets in the 6 days twice per year? This would also mean that the Contractor would visit VACHS 12 times, annually.

Answer: Contractor may conduct 2-day visits bi-weekly, which would result in less visits (approximately 26 visits).

3- Do you have an in-house laboratory at your facility that we can use, or should we have a mobile laboratory?

Answer: The VACHS does not possess an in-house laboratory for this. The Contractor shall perform these services in their own facility, or shall provide a mobile trailer unit, which can be parked at the VACHS main facility.

There are no further changes to this solicitation.
