QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
1. On p.22 under Description #2, it states Cat6a cable however the price schedule lists Cat6. Please clarify.
Answer: PWS has been corrected to read Cat6
2. On the Price Schedules‐ 1001AA it states Cat6, 2data +1 Voice Qty 75. Would that be a total of 225 cables or 150 data cables and 75 voice cables?
Answer: 75 is the estimated times CLIN 1001AA will be needed for DATA cabling. Also, LIN 1001AA has been revised to read 4 data port instead of 2 data port.
3. The 20’ of conduit required‐‐ is that for the sleeve inside the wall?
Answer: Yes
4. 1001AD‐expansion of existing drop, is that 2 added data cables to the same drop.
5. 1001AF‐ what size core hole is required? What is the depth of the concrete, will a core hole be required at the MDF/IDF location?
Answer: Core holes not needed in MDF/IDF locations; minimum diameter is 1.125 inches for a 1‐inch conduit.
Concrete thickness is 6‐8 inches.
6. Is ceiling a 2x2 or 2x4 lift out tile mineral type or something different? What is the ceiling height?
Answer: Depending on location tiles are 2x2, 2x4 or 4x4. Depending on location the ceiling height is 9 feet to 14 feet.
7. Is the use of a HEPA Cart required for any of these tasks listed in this requirement?
If so, which tasks and at which facilities?
Answer: Anytime a ceiling tile is removed for work, i.e. cable pulling. Carts are required at the main campus in Lake Nona and OPCs located at Lake Baldwin, Daytona and Viera.
8. Can the PRICE/COST SCHEDULE OF SERVICES be modified to account for the following RFP requirements:
Answer: No. Costs are already factored into LINs.
9. Is the contractor expected to keep an inventory of cable and supplies for the VA?
Answer: No
10. If so, can you provide the details of the inventory requirement?
Answer: N/A
11. Is this contract a recompete, and id so can you provide the incumbent contract number?
Answer: This is a new requirement, there isn’t an incumbent.
12. Please provide a price schedule and any technical requirements for the proposal.
Answer: Price schedule is located on section B.2 of solicitation.
13. Can you please help us with the Incumbent and contract value information for this opportunity?
Answer: There isn’t an incumbent, this is a new requirement.
14. Are there any specific manufactures required for cable, jacks, patch panels, fiber, etc.?
15. Cat 6e is referenced, does that mean that standards compliant category 6 is not acceptable?
Answer: Cat 6 is acceptable.
16. How many cables are required for item 1001AA; 3 or 4?
Answer: 4
17. Are fiber or copper patch cords required?
18. Are horizontal wire managers required?
Answer: Above ceiling yes, at the patch panel no.
19. Should the price for 1001AF include a sleeve?
Answer: Yes, Electrical metallic tubing (EMT) is acceptable.
20. Is all the fiber optic cabling inside plant?
Answer: Inside plant air blown fiber. Fiber connecting buildings are outside plant air blown fiber.
21. Item 1033AA; is this to include the labor to terminate 48 cables?
22. Item 1033AE, what will the wire terminate onto?
Answer: If needed it will terminate on or in equipment with VA direction.
23. Will HEPA carts be required for the installation of the cabling?
Answer: Yes, when a ceiling tile is removed for cable installation a HEPA cart must be used.
24. Item 1004AD state single mode or multimode. They are not the same cost; how should we price one of each? Same applies for item 1004AG.
Answer: Acceptable to price them separately.
